Upon our arrival at the BenCab museum, we thought of going first directly to Cafe Sabel to have our lunch. However, it would be nice to check out the galleries first. At the balcony, we saw a lady weaving straws. If ever you will be in BenCab Museum, I hope you can support her by buying some souvenirs (the ones made out of weaved straws).

I had a Korean barbecue feast last night with Sharlyne. All I can say is that USDA beef rocks . As you can see in the pictures, their beef looks really fresh!

I finally got to try out editing photos on the iPad using iPhoto. Editing was easy. For the above photo, you will notice there that the rest is in monochrome and that the highlighted color is red.

For the other photos, I just adjusted the brightness and the contrast and I did some cropping as well.

Here’s a series of photos that you would usually see in Siniloan, Laguna every Good Friday.

Some would wear masks while they do their act of penitence by whipping their backs.

I’ve noticed in Siniloan, Laguna that there are only a few who wear the skirt and a headdress made of dried palm leaves.

There are also some who won’t wear a mask but will wear a hat or a pair of sunglasses.

I guess there are still a lot of people who wouldn’t understand why people do this. For some, they do this as a vow (“panata”) or do this as a part of a family tradition.

I think this is the most decent picture that I have of Karl Roy. I cannot forget the time when he sent me a message in Facebook. He’s down to earth. You will always be remembered Karl Roy.

I’ve been to Silay City twice but it was really my first time to stay for a night in Silay City rather than staying in Bacolod City. The view from the ground floor of our pension house is the Maria Ledesma Golez House which is one of the old houses in Silay City. RCBC purchased this house in 1992.

The Kapehan is popular amongst tourists. Too bad we weren’t able to try it.

Along Silay’s main road, you’ll usually see a truck filled with sugar canes. It’s actually very common to see this in Negros since the province has a lot of sugar cane plantations.

Last Friday, I went a bit earlier to Mall of Asia’s Jetty Terminal (just near One Esplanade) so that I can take some photos there.

Yes, I was that enthusiastic to take photos that I got to the terminal from the “restricted area”. Well, it didn’t say that the area is restricted since there were no signs. I just looked for the nearest possible entrance from One Esplanade. Hehe.

Anyway, most point-and-shoot cameras have a Sunset mode. Try to make use of it in your photos and you will see the amazing results. You can also experiment with post-processing if you want your photo to have a different feel to it.

Boat Men

It was Strawberry Festival when we went to La Trinidad, Benguet. Well, it’s not only during Strawberry Festival where you’ll see strawberries being sold around since there are a lot of strawberry farms in the province of Benguet. I saw this in front of the La Trinidad Municipal Hall.

Seeing the giant strawberry on their municipal hall made me want to take a picture of it. It’s not always that you’ll see cute strawberries on a municipal hall or any government building for that matter.

Are you wondering where some of the vegetables sold in Manila came from? The are being loaded here and are delivered to Manila.

I love taking photos of sunsets. Sometimes, you get interesting results by playing with the white balance setting of your camera.

These photos were taken at the bayside near the SM Mall of Asia.

In a farm we visited in Benguet, we were able to meet the grandmother of our host there. She does not speak Tagalog but she’s good in playing the accordion. The accordion is old as well. The accordion was made in 1969.

Our host told us that she’s already 98 years old but she looks younger than her age.
