I’ve been to Silay City twice but it was really my first time to stay for a night in Silay City rather than staying in Bacolod City. The view from the ground floor of our pension house is the Maria Ledesma Golez House which is one of the old houses in Silay City. RCBC purchased this house in 1992.

The Kapehan is popular amongst tourists. Too bad we weren’t able to try it.

Along Silay’s main road, you’ll usually see a truck filled with sugar canes. It’s actually very common to see this in Negros since the province has a lot of sugar cane plantations.

Last Friday, I went a bit earlier to Mall of Asia’s Jetty Terminal (just near One Esplanade) so that I can take some photos there.

Yes, I was that enthusiastic to take photos that I got to the terminal from the “restricted area”. Well, it didn’t say that the area is restricted since there were no signs. I just looked for the nearest possible entrance from One Esplanade. Hehe.

Anyway, most point-and-shoot cameras have a Sunset mode. Try to make use of it in your photos and you will see the amazing results. You can also experiment with post-processing if you want your photo to have a different feel to it.

It was Strawberry Festival when we went to La Trinidad, Benguet. Well, it’s not only during Strawberry Festival where you’ll see strawberries being sold around since there are a lot of strawberry farms in the province of Benguet. I saw this in front of the La Trinidad Municipal Hall.

Seeing the giant strawberry on their municipal hall made me want to take a picture of it. It’s not always that you’ll see cute strawberries on a municipal hall or any government building for that matter.

Are you wondering where some of the vegetables sold in Manila came from? The are being loaded here and are delivered to Manila.

I love taking photos of sunsets. Sometimes, you get interesting results by playing with the white balance setting of your camera.

These photos were taken at the bayside near the SM Mall of Asia.

In a farm we visited in Benguet, we were able to meet the grandmother of our host there. She does not speak Tagalog but she’s good in playing the accordion. The accordion is old as well. The accordion was made in 1969.

Our host told us that she’s already 98 years old but she looks younger than her age.

Last week, we were able to watch the Pyromusical Competition where the featured countries are Japan and Canada. Thanks to SM for inviting us over. Last week’s weather was not good for fireworks display and taking photos of fireworks as well. As you have noticed in the above photo, you can see the smoke.

Aside from the smoke, taking photos of fireworks were not made easier by the fact that I need to hold my umbrella to protect me and my camera from getting wet. Good thing that the rain was not really strong.

The best spot to take photos of fireworks is in the patron area (just beside the bay). However, it’s best to use an ultra wide-angle lens. You can see in the photo above that some of the fireworks were cut off.

Also, don’t forget to bring your tripod just in case you would like to take photos of fireworks.

I almost forgot uploading my Casa San Pablo photos to Flickr. I went there last year together with my colleagues to meet with Sir Boots. His family owns this bed and breakfast getaway in San Pablo, Laguna.

Casa San Pablo is also a popular hub for those who would like to have a team building or just a simple company outing.

Artists, photographers and enthusiasts will surely enjoy their stay at Casa San Pablo.

By the way, these photos were post-processed using Lightroom.

Me and Sha went to the farewell concert of Sugarfree last night. Good thing, we were able to get a spot in the front. It was still challenging to take photos though because there were taller photographers in front of us. I used my Canon EOS 500D and my 50mm lens throughout the night.

During festivals, it’s no wonder that you’ll see a lot of vendors in the street. I’ve seen a lot but I was only able to take photos of some of them.

Taking photos of waterfalls is included in my photography bucket list. I was glad that the weather was good during our visit to Mambukal resort because we may not have trekked if it was bad.

I brought my tripod with me and as well as my ND8 filter. It was my first time to use it since I didn’t have a chance to use it.

There are seven waterfalls but we only got up to the 6th since it was already starting to drizzle.

One may only swim in the 6th and the 7th waterfalls according to our tour guide. Have you noticed in the photo above the effect on the upper right corner? This is because of the smudge on my filter.
